Ayanda Giya is the founder and director of A Ciya (Pty) Ltd. She was born and raised in the Vaal Triangle, Sebokeng. She completed grade 12 in 2009 and could not get any higher education institution due to financial constraints. In 2011 she got her first job as a Census fieldworker, in 2012 used part of the paycheck to enroll for Mechanical Engineering at Sedibeng TVET College. In November 2012, she got a job as a part timer at McDonald's Vereeniging until August 2013.
Ayanda began working as a learner Admin Clerk and Data Capturer at Johandeo Clinic in 2013. She was a employed for 12 months (September 2013 to August 2014) under the Gauteng City Region Academy and partnership with the Gauteng Department of Health. She then also worked at Doober Technologies as an Admin Clerk in 2018 for a period of 4 months (fixed term contract). She also worked at Novus Print (City Deep) for 2 years and 4 months (February 2019-June 2021) as an Apprentice. She recently also worked as Knowledge Worker for the Department of Social Development, assisting 23 ECD Centers with Government Employment Stimuls Fund Package, exceeding a limit of 10 submissions by 13 more due to the high demand and satisfaction that drove more referrals her way.
